New EYFS curriculum in place across all settings
Since May 2008 all Mama Bear's Day Nursery settings have been providing care and education in line with the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, which became mandatory on 1st September 2008.
The EYFS is a new play-based framework for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. It is through play that babies and young children learn, grow and have fun. It helps them understand the world and to develop socially and emotionally. Singing songs, reading together, playing games with letters and numbers and having fun with friends gives them a head start - and that means not just a happy childhood, it also helps their confidence, so thay can handle what life brings them.
All children should be able to play and learn in a fun environment with adults who understand and care about them. You can be confident that Mama Bear's Day Nursery is such a place. |

New Jungle Gym at Shirehampton
The main hall at our Shirehampton nursery has been given a jungle theme for the winter months.
Now children are joined by tigers, snakes, and other animals as they use the gym equipment to climb, jump and balance in a safe, controlled environment.
All nursery children at Shirehampton have access to these great facilities that promote gross motor skills as well as being great fun to play with whilst learning to socialise with their peers.
For more information on the jungle gym or on Shirehampton's facilities in general please call Tim on 0117 982 3345 or email him on shirehampton@mamabear.co.uk.
